Structure & Accountability

Board & Governance

IVCA is governed by a volunteer board of directors, structurally independent of any commercial training provider or coaching brand.

The board comprises practising Vital Code professionals, educators, and independent members drawn from law, healthcare regulation, and public policy — ensuring no single interest group dominates decision-making.

Specialist advisory panels covering certification, ethics, education, and international development report recommendations to the board for formal ratification.

IVCA holds an Annual General Meeting open to all voting members. Members may table motions, question the board, and vote on resolutions. All certification criteria, ethical codes, complaints procedures, and governance policies are published on this website.

IVCA has no political affiliations, no commercial sponsors, and no undisclosed financial interests.

Independence Guarantee

IVCA maintains a strict structural separation between standard-setting and commercial training delivery. Board members with active training interests are required to declare conflicts and recuse themselves from any decisions affecting authorisation, curriculum standards, or assessment criteria.

No training provider, coaching brand, or commercial entity influences IVCA's certification decisions. This independence is the foundation of public trust.

How IVCA Is Organised

Governance Structure

Four pillars that ensure IVCA remains accountable, independent, and professionally governed.

Board of Directors

A volunteer board of practitioners and independent professionals who set strategic direction, ratify certification standards, and ensure IVCA operates in the public interest. Board members are elected by the membership.

Advisory Panels

Specialist panels in Certification, Ethics, Education, and International Development provide expert recommendations to the board. Panel members are appointed based on relevant professional expertise.

Annual General Meeting

All voting members may attend, table motions, and vote on resolutions at the AGM. This ensures the association remains accountable to those it serves — certified practitioners worldwide.

Conflicts of Interest Policy

All board and panel members must declare commercial interests in training or Vital Code products. Undisclosed conflicts result in disqualification. This policy is published and enforced without exception.

The People Behind IVCA

Leadership

IVCA is entirely volunteer-led. Every member of the board and advisory panels contributes their time and expertise in service of the profession.

Professional governance and leadership team meeting

Our volunteers bring backgrounds spanning Vital Code practice, professional regulation, law, education, and healthcare policy. Full board biographies and advisory panel compositions will be published on this page upon the association's formal constitution.

Members wishing to learn more about current board composition or governance arrangements may contact us at info@ivca.org — board details are available on request.
