Trainer Authorisation
Become an IVCA Authorised Trainer
IVCA Authorised Trainers deliver the programmes that prepare the next generation of certified practitioners. They carry the highest standard of professional responsibility in the profession.
What It Means
The Role of an Authorised Trainer
Becoming an IVCA Authorised Trainer is the highest form of recognition the Association can confer, and with it comes the deepest level of responsibility.
Authorised Trainers are independently evaluated Master practitioners who have demonstrated not only advanced Vital Code® competence but also the ability to teach, assess, and cultivate that competence in others. They deliver programmes that IVCA has independently verified against its educational standards — and their training outcomes directly shape the quality of the practitioner register.
As an Authorised Trainer, you are authorised to deliver IVCA-recognised Foundation and Practitioner training programmes. Master programmes require separate approval. You operate under an ongoing relationship with IVCA, subject to periodic reauthorisation and quality review.
The title "IVCA Authorised Trainer" may only be used by individuals who hold current, valid trainer authorisation. Authorisation is not transferable and lapses if not renewed.
Authorised Trainers Can
- Deliver IVCA-recognised Foundation training programmes
- Deliver IVCA-recognised Practitioner training programmes
- Conduct Foundation and Practitioner competency assessments
- Submit candidate assessment evidence directly to IVCA
- Appear in the IVCA Trainer Directory as a verified Authorised Trainer
- Use the IVCA Authorised Trainer designation in professional materials
- Access trainer-specific member resources and curriculum updates
Note: Trainer authorisation does not grant the right to certify candidates directly. All certification decisions remain with IVCA's independent Certification Panel.
Before You Apply
Eligibility Requirements
Trainer authorisation is available only to practitioners who meet all four eligibility requirements. These are minimum thresholds, not discretionary criteria.
Current Master Certification
You must hold a current, valid IVCA Master certification in good standing. Trainer authorisation is not available to Foundation or Practitioner members. Your Master credential must not be lapsed, suspended, or under investigation.
Annual Update Compliance
You must be up to date with the Vital Code Annual Update for your current membership year. Any outstanding completion must be remedied before your trainer application is assessed. IVCA will verify your Annual Update status as part of the assessment process.
Código Vital® Lab — Mentor or Co-Facilitator Role
You must have completed a minimum of 6 months in the Código Vital® Lab in the role of mentor or co-facilitator — not simply as a participant. This demonstrates pedagogical readiness, the ability to hold a facilitation role with other professionals, and sustained commitment to the practice community. This requirement is a non-negotiable minimum threshold.
Clean Ethics Record
You must have no outstanding complaints, investigations, sanctions, or disciplinary proceedings on your IVCA record. Any previous sanction, including ones that have been resolved, will be considered as part of the assessment. IVCA's Ethics Panel may be consulted in borderline cases.
How It Works
The Authorisation Process
A structured four-stage process with independent assessment at each stage.
Application
Complete the Trainer Authorisation Application Form below. You will be asked to provide: evidence of your current Master certification; confirmation of Annual Update completion for the past two membership years; details of your teaching and assessment experience; a curriculum outline for the programme(s) you intend to deliver; and a summary of the supervised practice arrangements you will offer training candidates.
Assessment
Your application is reviewed by IVCA's Education and Standards Panel. The panel assesses your curriculum documentation against IVCA's educational standards, evaluates your teaching experience and assessment competence, and reviews your professional record. The panel may request additional documentation or a virtual meeting with you. Assessment is typically completed within 20 working days of a complete application.
Agreement
If your application is approved in principle, you will be asked to sign the IVCA Authorised Trainer Agreement — a formal agreement setting out the rights and obligations of your trainer status, including programme delivery standards, candidate assessment protocols, quality assurance requirements, and the conditions of reauthorisation. Trainer authorisation is granted upon receipt of the signed agreement.
Authorisation
You receive your IVCA Authorised Trainer designation, your profile is listed in the Trainer Directory, and you gain access to trainer-specific resources including curriculum guidelines, assessment frameworks, candidate tracking tools, and the IVCA trainer community. You are now authorised to deliver IVCA-recognised training programmes.

Ongoing Commitment
Reauthorisation
Trainer authorisation is granted for a period of three years, subject to annual membership renewal and continued Annual Update compliance. At the end of each three-year period, Authorised Trainers must apply for reauthorisation.
Reauthorisation involves a review of: your Annual Update completion record for the preceding membership years; candidate outcomes from programmes you have delivered; any complaints or concerns received relating to your training delivery; and any changes to your curriculum or delivery approach. Reauthorisation is not automatic. It is a genuine review of your continuing fitness to deliver IVCA-recognised programmes.
IVCA will send reauthorisation reminders six months before your authorisation expires. It is the trainer's responsibility to ensure that the reauthorisation process is completed before the expiry date. Trainers whose authorisation has lapsed may not deliver IVCA-recognised programmes until reauthorisation is granted.
IVCA also conducts periodic quality assurance reviews, which may include observation of training delivery or examination of candidate records. Participation in quality assurance is a condition of trainer authorisation.
